JEM Farm Appaloosas 2011 Recap

(Ribbons from our first show of the 2011 Season)

2011 was a great year at Jem Farm Appaloosas.

First on May 18th we welcomed a black colt with spots on the rump. Sired by Totally Exposed standing at Northview Quarterh Horses and owned by Jay and Mel Douglas. His dam is Amazin Blue Jem. Jet is just what we ordered. Watch for him in the show pen in 2012.

Trulee A Strawmaid

Trulee A Strawmaid was bred to One Sure Thing a 17.3 H Appendix Quarter Horse who is sired by Coats and Tails for a May 2012 foal. Very exicited over this.

Our new trailer

Our show season was made much easier this year as we purchased a Exiss Horse trailer with living quarters and a mid tack. That was a long time coming.

Erin and Revy 2011

Erin had a super year with Revy. She was Hi Point Non Pro at the Green Mountain Appaloosa Show in June and the Lake Champlain Appaloosa Club Summer Classic in July. She also showed Garet and Quinn in some in hand classes. She ended the year being Hi Point Non Pro, Hi Point Novice Non Pro and Reserve Pleasure Horse with LCAC. She was also Reserve Non Pro and Reserve Pleasure Horse with Empire Appaloosa Assoc. Pretty good for only being able to come home on weekend while she did her intership for college in Albany. Can't wait to have Erin back at the farm full time in 2012.

Megan and Garet 2011

Megan was only able to make it to a few shows due to work but she did a super job with Garet in the Hunter Under Saddle and Hunter In Hand Classes. Big Thank You to Melanie Douglas for the great job she did with Garet. Megan wants to show Quinn in 2012. So we are starting her under saddle then she will be heading to Melanie's so she and Megan can work together.

Larry and Quinn

Larry had a busy year showing his horses Garet and Quinn. It was great to have him back in the saddle again. Larry really enjoyed showing Imaginary Rules for Ben Knapp all summer. Such a wonderful horse.

Bella , Donna and Isabella

Jem Farm also added a new size to its list of horses and welcomed Bella an appaloosa marked miniature horse. She has fit right in and will be shown by students in 2012. Big Thank You to Troy and Bridget of Red K Stables for finding this perfect little girl for us.

Larry with Imaginary Rules owned by Ben Knap

Special Thank you to all of our clients for trusting us to handle the training your horses in 2011. Cindy Clark, Ben Knapp, Michelle Moore, Raymond Crouse, Paul Burgess, Pudgie King, Julie Cyr, Sharon Kalahan, Bill & Linda Steinfeld and Helen Eagle. We enjoyed them all and wish you much success in the future.

Our show team had an outstanding year. For some it was their first time showing, all improved so much this past year we are very proud of each of them. Our Pony group really shined this year congratulations Abigail Bosley, Courtney Bosley, Adisyn Sample, Alyssa Lora and Katera Poupore. Other youth students who headed out to the show ring this year also had a great year, congrats to Adie Steinfeld, Harry West & Lauren Lincourt. Outstanding job to our adult students who braved it in the show ring Craig Bosley, Cindy Clark, Kathy Starr, Fay Davis and Becky Hoskins.

Of course our students who are also in 4-H hold a special place in our hearts. 2012 will be 25 years for us as 4-h leaders. So proud of each of these 4-Hers and how well they did with their horses and ponies this past year. Abigail & Courtney Bosley, Adisyn Sample, Harry West, Adie & Jacob Steinfeld Steinfeld, Jazmin & Kristen Lushia, Katie Laventure, Courtney Laventure and Elizabeth Arquette

All in all a wonderful summer with many great students who we always have a wonderful time with. Even those who don't show had a good time at our fun show held in the spring and fall. Fun with horses...that is what it is all about.[/center]
